Forrest Taylor
Edwin Forrest Taylor (born December 29, 1883 in Bloomington , Illinois , USA , † February 19, 1965 in Garden Grove , California , USA ) was an American actor .
Life
Taylor began his working life in the newspaper business - his father worked there - before moving to film in 1915. Two years later he went to Broadway , where he celebrated success with Clara Kimball Young and had his own troupe from the second half of the 1920s.
In 1933 he returned to film and appeared in over 300 films by 1959, 200 of which were westerns , mostly from the B production , alongside all the greats in the series. In doing so, he switched from fatherly friends to the villains in the background, often in the same film. After 1941 in the musical Western Ridin 'on a Rainbow had embodies a rancher, he played in 1942 in the film adaptation of The Spoilers (The Spoilers) the villain Bennett. He also found time for numerous television roles, including Doc Brannon in The Man Without a Colt (1957-1959) and as a family grandpa in This is the life . He was also on the cast list around 35 times at the heyday of the serial productions.
