Acquisitions

The company has made the following acquisitions in recent years:

  • 2001: Acquisition of the Zodiac brand from Genender International for approximately $ 4.7 million. Zodiac was a Swiss watch brand founded in 1882. Fossil thus gained access to the Swiss market for the first time.
  • 2004: Takeover of the Swiss watch brand Michele by taking over Tempus International Corp for approx. 50 million US dollars. Supplement to the watch portfolio in the design segment.
  • 2007: Takeover of Watch Station International , a watch retailer with global sales, from Sunglass Hut , which in turn is part of the Luxottica Group.
  • 2012: Acquired Skagen Designs for approximately $ 225 million and 150,000 Fossil shares. Skagen is an established watch and jewelry brand with Danish design and will be continued as a private label.
  • 2013: Fossil takes over Latin American distribution business from partner Bentrani Watches, LLC of Miami , Florida .
  • 2015: Fossil takes over the wearable computing provider Misfit Wearables from Burlingame , California for approx. 241 million euros and wants to integrate the Misfit technology into the watches of the various brands of the Fossil Group.
