Life
Fouad El Mouhandes grew up in a wealthy family in the Abbassia district of Cairo ; his father, the professor of linguistics and head of the Academy of Arabic Language Zaki El Mouhandes, encouraged the son to act. In his youth he was already an amateur actor. The comedian Najib Al-Rihani and Charlie Chaplin inspired him during his economics studies at the University of Cairo , which he finished with a bachelor's degree.
In the 1950s El Mouhandes played mostly supporting roles in films and appeared on the radio. He started in 1953 at the radio show Sa'a Li-Qalbak ( German One hour to your heart ) and was, in a further half-hour daily morning radio show English "To House Wives" to hear. For 25 years he directed the English show "Just a Few Words" , in which he played the social critic and reformer. In 1955 he co-founded the Sa'a Li-Qalbak theater group and appeared in many of their plays.
In 1954 he starred in his first film, Bent el-Giran ( German The Neighbor 's Daughter ). A few other film roles were in El-Ard El-Tayyeba ( German Die gute Erde ), Bein El-Atlaal ( German In denüsten ), Amirat El-Arab ( German Princess of the Arabs ), Es-Sahera Es-Sagheera ( German Die kleine Witch ), Nahr El-Hob ( German river of love ), Almaz wi Abdo El-Hamuli ( German Almaz and Abdu El-Hamuli ) and El-Shumoo 'El-Sawda ( German black candles ). He also worked for several soap operas on television.
In the 1960s he had his greatest success, especially in joint films and plays with his wife Shwikar , which made him a star. His role in the film Aa'ilat Zizi ( German Zizis family ) by director Futin Abd al-Wahhab was one of his most famous roles. He considered the quality of the films in which El Mouhandes starred to be moderate and saw his main artistic work in the theater, on which he spent the majority of his income from the film and television business. In addition to his musical talent, his acting versatility is considered to be outstanding. After a series of awards, he received an award from the Cairo International Film Festival in 1999 and the Egyptian State Order of Merit in 2005.
He had two sons with his first wife, a neighbor daughter he was divorced from, and a stepdaughter with his second wife Shwikar.
