The Foundry Brook arises as Bishop's Woodstream in Heath End in Hampshire . It flows in an easterly direction and changes its name to Silchester Brook east of Tadley . Under this name it continues to flow in an easterly direction until it swings north when reaching the Reading – Basingstoke railway line . After the confluence of the West End Brook , it changes its name to Foudry Brook , under which it runs up to its confluence with the River Kennet on the southern edge of Reading .
