Frédéric-Henri Oury (born May 3, 1842 in Vendôme , † February 6, 1921 in Marseille ) was a French bishop .

Life

Frédéric-Henri Oury was ordained a priest in Le Mans on September 23, 1865 and was then chaplain in La Ferté-Bernard for two years . He then went to sea for ten years as a naval chaplain before he was appointed bishop of Guadeloupe and Basse-Terre by government decree of December 31, 1884 . On March 27, 1885 präkonisiert he received on 21 June 1885 the Metropolitan of Bordeaux, Archbishop Guilbert , in the Le Mans Cathedral consecration. On March 2, 1886, he was transferred to Frejus-Toulon , but was unable to resign due to differences between the French government and St. Take up the chair in September.

He was transferred to Dijon on June 3, 1890 and promoted to Archbishop of Algiers on July 8, 1898 . He resigned from this office in 1907 and was transferred to the titular seat of Ptolemais in Thebaide in 1909 .
