Frédéric Fauthoux (born December 6,  1972 in Saint-Sever (Landes) ) is a former French basketball player .

career

Fauthoux played from 1989 to 2006 for Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez in the highest French league, the Ligue Nationale de Basket . From 2001 to 2007 he was team captain. The 1.80 meter tall playmaker won the French championship with Pau-Orthez in 1992, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2004 as well as the cup competition in 2002 and 2003. Fauthoux achieved the highest season points average of his career in the 1996/97 season (9.4 / game), in the 2002/03 game year he reached his highest value with 4.7 assists per match.

In 2006 he organized a basketball holiday training camp for young people for the first time. In the years that followed, up to 1,400 children took part in the events each year.

From 2012 he worked as a coach at the fifth division Pau-Nord-Est. After that, from 2015 he worked as an assistant coach at the first division club Paris-Levallois and in the same year, after the resignation of Antoine Rigaudeau, took over the post of head coach, which he held until 2020. In mid-June 2020 he became assistant coach at ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne .

National team

Fauthoux took part with France's national team at the European Championships in 1997 and 2005. He played 47 international matches.
