Frédéric Morel

Frédéric Morel (born April 3, 1988 in Brest ) is a French chef .

Career

After his training at the Lycée Hotelier de Dinard in Brittany, Morel moved to Wyck Hill House in Stow-on-the-Wold in 2008 . After six months he moved to the Lords Of The Manor (one star in the Michelin Guide ) to Mattew Weedon, where he stayed until 2010. Morel then returned to Brittany to join Olivier Bellin at L'auberge Des Glazicks , which at the time had two Michelin stars. After a short winter season in Switzerland, Morel came to Germany in 2012. His first position was with Thomas Martin in the Hotel Louis C. Jacob (two Michelin stars). After a year he moved to Joachim Wissler in the Vendome restaurant in the Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg .

From March 2014 he worked in the one-star restaurant Se7en oceans in Hamburg , first as a sous chef and from August as head chef. From November 2014 he defended the Michelin star.

In 2018, Morel announced that he would go to his wife's homeland, where he wanted to set up his own business with his wife. On October 23, 2019, both opened the Coeur D'Artichaut restaurant in Münster . On March 3, 2020, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star after just four and a half months.
