Frédéric Rothen (born January 26, 1976 in Boncourt JU ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player . During his career he played for HC Ajoie , EHC Kloten , HC Davos and EV Zug in the National League A between 1992 and 2010 .

Career

Frédéric Rothen began his career at HC Ajoie . He then moved to EHC Kloten , later to HC Davos and then back to Kloten via EV Zug in 2005. After Romano Lemm left for HC Lugano in summer 2008 , he became the new team captain of the Kloten Flyers. On January 10, 2009 he suffered serious injuries to the jaw after a blocked shot, but made his debut in the first final game with a special helmet. On April 14, 2010 it was announced that Rothen would be retired for the next season despite an ongoing contract. On June 3, 2010, the Kloten Flyers announced that Rothen will end his career and will now work as a fitness trainer for the Flyers.
