Frédéric Schœndœrffer (born October 3, 1962 in Billancourt , France ) is a French film director and screenwriter .

Life

Frédéric Schœndœrffer is the son of Oscar winner Pierre Schœndœrffer and brother of the actor Ludovic Schœndœrffer . He is married and has three children. found work in the French film industry in the early 1980s. He was involved in the film Emmanuelle 4 as assistant to the production manager . In 1985 he worked as an assistant director for Michel Lang on his comedy Her mit den Jungs . In 1992 he worked for his father as an assistant director on his war drama Diên Biên Phú - Symphony of Doom .

He made his own directorial debut in 2000 with the crime film Traces of Blood . The story of two criminal investigators looking for a kidnapped girl hit French cinemas on March 15, 2000 and was seen by 208,755 people. A year later he received a nomination for the best first work at the César 2001 French film award .
