Emmanuelle 4 is a French erotic - film drama made in 1984 by Francis Leroi (including Francis Giacobetti). The strip is the fourth part of the officially authorized Emmanuelle film adaptations about the character created by Emmanuelle Arsan . The heroine in the title is portrayed by Sylvia Kristel , the "new" Emmanuelle by Mia Nygren .

Sylvia is on the run from her former lover Marc, whom she actually never wanted to see and forget again. When he tracks her down again at a party in Los Angeles , she decides to travel to São Paulo to have her appearance completely changed with the help of plastic surgery . After a successful operation, she calls herself Emmanuelle and travels with her psychotherapist Donna through South America, where she embarks on all kinds of erotic adventures. In the end she returns to Marc, who doesn't know that it is her, and gets involved with him again.
