Christian Marquand

Christian Marquand (born March 15, 1927 in Marseille , † November 22, 2000 in Paris ) was a French actor and film director .

Live and act

Marquand, who was of Hispanic-Arab origin, gained some experience as a stage actor before receiving his first film roles towards the end of World War II. He soon became a busy semi-star who embodied especially lovers and adventurers, more rarely villains. He has also appeared several times in international and Hollywood productions such as Der Flug des Phoenix , Lord Jim and Apocalypse Now . Marquand tried twice as a director, most recently with the high-profile satire Candy , but he could not achieve any particular response. He later took on an important role in the speculative work The Sect as the leader of a Moroccan girl trafficking sect.
