Friedrich Coubillier

Friedrich Coubillier , also Fritz Coubillier or Frédéric Coubillier (born November 1, 1869 in Longeville-lès-Metz , Lorraine, † March 17, 1953 in Düsseldorf ), was a German sculptor .

Coubillier studied after a practical training from 1894 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Karl Janssen . After studying in Rome for several years, he returned to Düsseldorf.

From the end of the 19th century he created numerous statues, reliefs, tombs and monuments in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. His most famous works there include the figures of the Triton Fountain on the Stadtgraben and the industrial fountain on Fürstenplatz.

In 1913 he was made an extraordinary member of the art academy and from then on held the title of professor .
