Previous dissemination of teaching
Earlier dissemination of the doctrine ( Tib. Bstan pa snga dar ) refers to the period in Tibetan history of the first missionary mission of Tibet to Buddhism , which falls between the 7th and 9th centuries .
The following Buddhist personalities are included in the period:
- Sangshi (sang shi), 8th century, early translator of Buddhist scriptures
- Ba Salnang (sba gsal snang), 8th century, one of the Seven Chosen ( sad mi mi bdun ), the first seven monks in Tibet
- Vairocana from Pagor (pa gor bai ro tsa na). 8th century, early master of tantric Buddhism
- Lhalung Pelgyi Dorje (lha lung pal kyi rdo rje), 9th century, killed the last Tibetan king, Lang Darma
- Dharmasiddhi (chos' grub), 9th century; died 865, Tibetan translator of Buddhist scriptures
