The spring valley , also called Fabiontal , is a small valley and a designated biotope in the Überetscher municipality of Kaltern in South Tyrol ( Italy ). The nearest town is about Appiano belonging Montiggl .

The spring valley connects the basins of the Montiggler See and the Kalterer See , formed by the Ice Age glacier, and is drained by the Angelbach .

Due to the special geographical location, white spring knot flowers (large snowdrops) and blue liverworts already bloom in the spring valley from mid-February . Later violets , celandine and anemones dominate the picture.
