Fracture is an Australian power and progressive metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 2007.

history

The band was founded in early 2007 and is built around the duo David Bellion (vocals) and Tony Markous (electric guitar). In October 2010, Nightmare Records released their debut album Simple Chaos , on which Mark Degiorgio played drums and Joe Kostof played second guitar.

style

According to Bonnek from progarchives.com , the band plays heavy progressive metal that sounds like a mixture of Nevermore , Kamelot and Fates Warning . Tobias Blum of Rock Hard wrote in his review for Simple chaos that the band steals this, "what in classical US - metal and modern thrash can go wrong." The vocals sound inspired by John Arch and Geoff Tate and sound high and quite powerful and make use of vibrato , but there is a lack of charisma. The songs are complicated, but unoriginal and there are no hooks . The riffs of the electric guitars are tuned lower and are reminiscent of the hardest moments of Dream Theater or Fear Factory . The album was produced sterile and there was a lack of dynamism. Pete Pardo of seaoftranquility.org described the album's music as a mix of power and progressive metal that would be suitable for fans of Queensrÿche , Fates Warning and Zero Hour . The album offers sublime vocals, memorable songs and technically demanding guitar work that sounds heavy and dense. The singing is comparable to that of Geoff Tate, Ray Alder and Chris Salinas .
