John Arch (* 1959 in Colorado Springs as John Maurice Archambault ) is an American metal singer, the v. a. is known as a founding member of Fates Warning .

biography

He formed Fates Warning in 1982 with Jim Matheos , Victor Arduini, Joe DiBiase and Steve Zimmerman in Connecticut and sang on the band's first three albums. Then Fates Warning developed their style from heavy metal under Iron Maiden influence to an early but groundbreaking Progressive Metal . After Awaken the Guardian was released , Arch left the band in November 1986, replacing him with Ray Alder .

Arch turned his back on music for the next 17 years before surprisingly released a solo EP in 2003 on Metal Blade Records . A Twist of Fate was recorded with Jim Matheos, Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning) and Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater) and was extremely well received by the press. Arch, Matheos and Vera continued their collaboration in 2010 in the Arch / Matheos project , which released the album Sympathetic Resonance with Frank Aresti (Fates Warning) and Bobby Jarzombek (ex-Riot, Fates Warning) . Arch / Matheos headlined Keep It True XV 2012. At the Keep It True Festival XIX 2016 there was a performance by Fates Warning in the band cast during the times of Awaken the Guardian .
