François-Paul-Émile Boisnormand de Bonnechose

François-Paul-Émile Boisnormand de Bonnechose (born August 18, 1801 in Leyendorp ( Netherlands ), † February 15, 1875 in Paris ) was a French historian and poet .

Life

François-Paul-Émile Boisnormand de Bonnechose, son of an emigrant, was a brother of the Cardinal and Archbishop of Rouen, Henri-Marie-Gaston Boisnormand de Bonnechose , but himself a Protestant. He joined the French army after completing his attendance at the Saint-Cyr military school (1818), became a lieutenant during the Restoration in 1825, then a staff officer, retired from military service in 1829 and was given the post of librarian at Saint-Cyrus Castle by King Charles X. Cloud , which he also Louis-Philippe I maintained. From 1850 to 1853 he was the curator of several libraries on the civil list , including those of Versailles and Trianon. He died in Paris on February 15, 1875 at the age of 73.

In addition to the works listed below, Bonnechose made contributions to the Complément du Dictionnaire de l'Académie , the Revue chrétienne and the Revue contemporaine . He was also chairman of the Société biblique .
