François "Swat" Janssens (born September 25, 1945 in Turnhout ) is a former Belgian football player .

Career

society

Janssens began his career in 1963 in his hometown at KFC Turnhout in the First Division . After relegation to the Belgian second division at the end of the 1963/64 season, he spent two more years in Turnhout and moved to Lierse SK in 1966 . With Lierse, he won the Belgian Football Cup in 1969 . In 1981 Janssens ended his professional career and played with the lower-class clubs Sint-Niklaas SK and KVVOG Vorselaar until 1984 .

National team

François Janssens played two international matches for the Belgian national team , in which he scored one goal. He was in the Belgian squad for the 1970 World Cup in Mexico and for the 1972 European Championship in his own country, but was not used in either of the two tournaments.
