Franc Šěn
Franc Šěn (German Franz Schön ; born December 7, 1950 in Schönau , Oberlausitz ) is a Sorbian cultural historian and publicist.
Life
After visiting the Sorbian Extended Secondary School in Kleinwelka studied Franc Sen since 1970 Slavic and Sorbian Studies at the University of Leipzig . In 1974 he became a research assistant at the Institute for Sorbian Folk Research in Bautzen in the field of cultural and literary history. In 1982 he received his doctorate.
In 1989/90, Franc Šěn was involved in the formation of the Sorbian People's Assembly . Since 1992 he has been head of the Sorbian Central Library / Sorbian Cultural Archive department at the Sorbian Institute. He retired in 2016.
One daughter is the writer Lubina Hajduk-Veljkovićowa .
