Frances Belle O'Connor

Frances Belle O'Connor (born September 8, 1914 in Granite Falls or Sheridan, † January 30, 1982 in Long Beach , California ) was an American show attraction and actress .

O'Connor was born without arms and made her job out of this specialty. She presented herself to the public at the age of eight. She appeared as the living Venus de Milo in numerous shows, including Al. G. Barnes Circus and with the Cole Brothers as well as in the circuses of Sells-Floto and Hagenbeck-Wallace. In 1932 she got a role in the film Freaks by Tod Browning . She also performed with Barnum & Bailey until the mid-1940s . It was managed by her mother. After their death, she withdrew from the public. She died lonely and with no offspring.
