Frances Kaszubski
Frances Kaszubski ( Frances Theresa Kaszubski, née Sobczak, first marriage Gorn; born May 15, 1916 in Donora , Pennsylvania , † April 11, 2010 in Berea , Ohio ) was an American discus thrower and shot putter .
At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 she was eleventh in the discus throw and was eliminated in the preliminary round of the shot put.
In 1951 she won bronze in the discus throw at the Pan American Games in Mexico City and came fourth in the shot put.
She was US champion in discus throwing seven times (1943, 1945, 1947–1951) and four times in the shot put (1943, 1945, 1948, 1950). In 1948 and 1951 she won the national title in the shot put in the hall. Her personal best in the discus throw of 40.23 m she set on July 30, 1942 in Chicago .
