Francesc Abós

Francesc Abós (born 1977 in Los Angeles ) is a Spanish dancer and choreographer .

Life

Abós completed his dance training in Barcelona and then with scholarships at the Ballet Center Hamburg from John Neumeier and at the National Ballet Academy Amsterdam . From 1997 he also took acting and singing lessons at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. He was engaged at the Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam, where he danced in Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet in choreographies by Rudi van Dantzig .

From 1997 he played in numerous musical productions that were developed by well-known choreographers - including Kim Duddy ( Fame ), Dennis Callahan ( Tanz der Vampire , The Wild Party ), Anthony van Laast ( The Three Musketeers ), Ramón Oller Martínez ( Grease ) and Richard Wherlock ( West Side Story ).

Francesc Abós has worked exclusively as a choreographer since 2007. In Spain he is a sought-after choreographer for musicals, variety shows and television shows, and has also choreographed weddings. He also acted as dance supervisor for the musical Chicago at the Teatro Coliseum in Madrid. He choreographed regularly for house DJ and music producer David Guetta and most recently for singer Michelle Williams of the R&B trio Destiny's Child .

He also worked on the choreographies for Zeller's bird dealer in Gelsenkirchen, as well as for the musicals Candide and Grease in Madrid, for Monty Python's Spamalot and Forever Young in Barcelona. Together with the director Henry Mason he developed the production Just So at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna in 2010 , Shakespeare's Midsummer Night 's Dream at the Salzburg Festival in 2013 and the musical The Wizard of Oz at the Vienna Volksoper in 2014 .
