Rudi van Dantzig (born August 4, 1933 in Amsterdam ; † January 19, 2012 ) was a Dutch dancer , choreographer and writer.

Rudi van Dantzig, who was heavily inspired by the work of Martha Graham , made his debut in 1952 with the Nederlands Ballet, which later became the Dutch National Ballet ( Het Nationale Ballet ). From 1965 he became co-director, u. a. together with Hans van Manen . From 1971 to 1991 it was the sole head of the National Ballet Company of the Netherlands.

Dantzig is the author of several books, including a 1986 autobiography entitled Voor een Verloren Soldaat ( For a Lost Soldier ), for which he was awarded the Golden Dog-Ear in 1987 and which was made into a film in 1992.
