Francesca Alotta
Francesca Alotta (born January 1, 1968 in Palermo ) is an Italian pop singer .
Career
Francesca Alotta, the daughter of the tenor Filippo Alotta , started out as a background singer (for Mietta , for example ) and was briefly part of the girl group Compilations put together by Gianni Boncompagni for the television program Domenica . She first became known to a wider audience in 1991 when she won the Cantagiro competition in the newcomer category with the song Chiamata urgente . The following year she presented the song Non amarmi in the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival at the side of Aleandro Baldi , with which she also won this competition. The song was an international success and was designed by Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony in 1999 as No me ames gecovert . Following this success, the singer released her self-titled debut album in 1992.
In 1993 Alotta returned alone to the Sanremo Festival, where she achieved tenth place in the main category with Un anno di noi . Then her second album Io e te was released . In the following years Alotta remained musically active, also beyond Italy, and appeared in television programs. In 1997 she released her third album, the cover album Buonanotte alla luna , on which she a. a. worked with Loredana Bertè . In 2004 she took part in the first edition of the reality show Music Farm on Rai 2 . Other TV shows followed until she returned in 2018 with the single Anima sola , a duet with Mauro Pina . For this she was awarded the AFI (Association of Independent Music Producers) prize. Her fourth album, Anima mediterranea , was released at the end of the year .
