Francesca Madriguera i Rodon , also known as Paquita Madriguera , (born September 24, 1900 in Igualada , † November 2, 1965 in Montevideo ) was a Catalan classical pianist and composer. As a pianist, Madriguera was a member of the Catalan School of Pianists .

Francesca Madriguera i Rodon was born in Igualada as the daughter of Enric Madriguera i Haase and Francesca Rodón i Canudas. She was the sister of the composer Enric Madriguera , who was two years his junior . At the age of three she began to play the piano with her mother. She gave her first concert at the age of five. When she was seven, she came to Enrique Granados . He accepted her at the academy, where she studied piano with Frank Marshall and composition with Mas i Serracant . Granados always considered Madriguera one of his best students. She later moved to Paris, where she became a student of Isidore Philipp . At the age of 11 she gave one concert in the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, ​​and another in the Ateneo of Madrid. She also performed her own compositions in these concerts. When she was 13, she toured internationally and gave concerts in Paris and London. In London's Royal Albert Hall she played in a memorial concert for the singer María Barrientos .

She performed as a duo with her brother Enric until 1920, the year of their wedding. In 1920 she married Arturo Puig, the owner of the La Democracia newspaper in Montevideo, and settled with him in Montevideo. With the beginning of this marriage she gave up her career as a concert pianist.

When her husband died in 1933, she resumed her concert activities and toured frequently throughout Europe and America. In 1953 she gave a concert in Barcelona as a soloist with the Barcelona City Orchestra under Eduard Toldrà . She went into a second marriage with the guitarist Andrés Segovia .

As a composer, Madriguera has mainly written works for piano as well as for piano and voice.

Francesca, or Paquita Madriguera , as she was called by her fans, died in Montevideo on November 2, 1965.
