Francesco Babuscio Rizzo

Francesco Babuscio Rizzo (born June 24, 1897 in Potenza , † 1983 ) was an Italian diplomat .

Francesco Babuscio Rizzo studied law , economics and commercial science at the University of Florence and worked as a diplomat after completing his studies. On July 21, 1925, he joined the Italian Foreign Ministry and worked at the Italian Embassy in Bern . He then worked in Buenos Aires , Dijon , Shanghai , Beijing and Tirana . From 1939 to February 1943 he was counselor in the Italian mission at the Vatican . From February to June 1943, Francesco Babuscio Rizzo worked as head of cabinet in the Italian Foreign Ministry before returning to his post at the Vatican. From January 1946 to 1949 he was ambassador to Dublin and then head of the Italian diplomatic mission (and later ambassador) to the Federal Republic of Germany. On November 28, 1954, he resigned as ambassador in Bonn . He was succeeded by Umberto Grazzi . Francesco Babuscio Rizzo became ambassador to Brazil in February 1955 .

In 1954, Francesco Babuscio Rizzo was honored with the Great Federal Cross of Merit with a star and shoulder ribbon, in 1955 with the Grand Cross.
