Francesco Ciaffei

Francesco Ciaffei (born July 9, 1819 in Rome , † 1894 in Florence ) was an Italian tenor and singing teacher .

Life

From the late 1830s onwards, Ciaffei sang in particular in Parma , Mantua , Padua , Modena and Rome. In 1848 he appeared as a member of the troupe of the impresario Vincenzo Galli under the conductor Jacopo Foroni in Denmark , Sweden and Norway . In 1851 he performed in London . In the 1860s he became well known as a music teacher in Nice . In the 1870s he taught in Poland . Among his students were Jean de Reszke and his brother Édouard de Reszke (1853-1917) and Zygmunt Noskowski and Mieczysław Apolinary Horbowski .
