Francesco Fornabaio (* 5. March 1957 in Stigliano , † 21st September 2014 in Venice ) was an Italian aerobatics - Pilot . He died in an Extra 300 (registration number D-EYKS ) after falling into the open field at the Fly Venice 2014 air show . He left three children.

Fornabaio has been part of the Italian national aerobatics team since 2002 and has participated in national and international competitions. In 2014 he became Italian champion in the highest category of aerobatics in Caorle. He also held the record for the longest distance in an Extra 300 until his death. He flew 14,000 km from Milan to Al Ain for this .
