Francesco Jovine

Francesco Jovine (born October 9, 1902 in Guardialfiera ( Campobasso province ), † April 30, 1950 in Rome ) was an Italian writer.

In his neorealist novels and stories he campaigned especially for the socially disenfranchised. In 1945 he founded the Sindacato Nazionale Scrittori writers' union with Corrado Alvaro and Libero Bigiaretti . In 1950 he received the Premio Viareggio , one of the most prestigious Italian literary prizes, for his novel Le terre del sacramento .
