Francesco Turini
Francesco Turini (* around 1589 in Prague , † 1656 in Brescia ) was an Italian composer and organist.
Life
Turini's father Gregorio Turini (around 1560 to around 1600) was a singer and Zinkenist at the court of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague. After the premature death of his father, Emperor Rudolf II supported the twelve-year-old Turini by being employed as court organist. After the emperor's death, Turini turned in 1612 first to Venice , later to Padua , where he was in the service of the abbot of the Benedictine monastery in Leno , Gianfrancesco Morosini (1595–1628), who was also canon of the Cathedral of Brescia. In 1620 Turini became cathedral organist in Brescia, his father's hometown.
