Francine Luce

Francine Luce (* in France ) is a French jazz singer who also works as a voice trainer and therapist .

Luce first appeared publicly in Martinique in 1980 with Kanpech ; from 1986, back in Europe, she was active in groups such as Zaka Percussion and in performances by Geoffrey Oryema or Pakatak as a background singer; she was in the recording studio with Guad M. or Bakatou . In 1987 she performed in London with Circle Cycle around Maggie Nichols and John Law and in a trio with Sylvia Hallett and Sue Ferrar. From 1988 she was on the road as a singer with various groups of new improvisation music and jazz in Italy, Switzerland and Germany. She presented her first album Gland with the band Fonolite , which also included Jim Dvorak , Mario Volpe and Roberto Bellatalla . With Steve Beresford she was involved in a tribute album for Sidney Bechet ( Vol pour Sidney ) in 1992 . At the Moers Festival in 1994 she appeared in the group of Evan Parker . From 1995 she belonged to the ensemble of Louis Moholo , with whom she has released three albums so far. In 1999 she presented an album under her own name. She can also be heard on albums by Pierre Vassiliu and Regular Fries.
