Eclaire Francine Marie Oomen (born March 27, 1960 in Laren (North Holland) ) is a Dutch author, mainly of books for children and young people .

She moved to Eindhoven at the age of six, and moved to Groningen when her parents divorced when she was twelve . At 16 she returned to Eindhoven. After school she attended the Design Academy Eindhoven . She later lived in The Hague and Zevenaar before settling in Nuth ( Limburg Province ). At first she worked as a freelance graphic designer , later she mainly began to write. Oomen has two daughters and one son. Her youngest sister, Sten Oomen, is also an author.

Her best-known youth book series is the Hoe overleef ik series, which was published in Germany under the title Rosa's worst years . She has won the Dutch award for the best book for young people nine times.
