Francis Berrar

Francis Berrar (* 1954 in Überherrn ) is a German artist , draftsman and painter .

life and work

After completing his Matura in 1976 in Vienna, Berrar studied from 1976 to 1981 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy with Michel Parré and Jacques Hallez, and in 1981 received the state diploma from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing . Since 1979 he has participated in various group and solo exhibitions in galleries and museums in Europe. In 1990 he received a working grant from the Saarland Minister of Culture in Olevano Romano , Casa Baldi ; 1991 a working grant from the Saarland state government in Rusa , Moscow Oblast . In 1992 he won the Rome Prize and received a scholarship from the Villa Massimo , Rome.
In December 2009, Berrar received the 5,000 euro “Art and Ethos” cultural prize from the Regensburg publishing house Schnell & Steiner , which is awarded for artistic achievements that express the connection between art and ethics.
