Career in the club

Isnard began playing football in his hometown of Manosque, later switched to OGC Nice and made the leap to its first division team in 1963. The then 18-year-old was regularly called up in his first season, but at the end of the season had to accept relegation to the second division. In 1965, as a second division champion, he was able to get back up straight away. In the following years he became the undisputed regular player in the defense , while the team established itself in the league and from 1966 regularly took part in European competition. At the end of the 1967/68 season, she even finished second in the table, whereas in the following year it came down again. In 1970 Isnard and his teammates again won the championship of the second division and were then again a fixture in the top division. In 1972/73 they were runner-up again as second-placed team.

Between 1963 and 1975 Isnard had spent a total of twelve years in the defense of Nice, most of them alongside Maurice Serrus . With 334 first division games, he is the club's record player in the top division. He never lost his regular place and was considered a very solid defender. At the same time, he allowed himself a few mistakes, which is why a yellow card received against Girondins Bordeaux in 1974 was his only warning in the top division.

With his departure from Nice, he moved to the second division AS Cannes in 1975 , for which he played 56 games with three goals of his own in the following two years. In 1977 he ended his professional career at the age of 32. Then he ran for Rapid Menton and there temporarily in the fourth division. Most recently he played for the Étoile de Menton club from 1983 to 1985 . He later settled in Calvi on the island of Corsica . He died on June 26, 2010 at the age of 65 after several years of serious illness in a hospital in Monaco.
