Francis Jeffers (born January 25, 1981 in Liverpool ) is an English football player .

Career

Jeffers began his career at Everton , where he joined the club through the academy. He made his debut on December 25, 1997 against Manchester United . In his first full season Everton was 14th. 2001 he moved to Arsenal after Arsène Wenger noticed the then young Englishman.

In his first season with the Gunners, Jeffers only made six league appearances. He took part in the UEFA Champions League , where he made his debut on September 11, 2001 against RCD Mallorca when he came on for Freddie Ljungberg in the 75th minute . At the beginning of the 2003/04 season he was still under contract with Arsenal before he returned to Everton on loan after the Community Shield . There he was able to prevent relegation as a regular player.

In 2004 Jeffers moved to Charlton Athletic . After half a year he was awarded to the Glasgow Rangers for which he was active until the end of the season. In the end he could look forward to the Scottish championship title.

In 2006 the Englishman went back to the Premier League and signed with Blackburn Rovers , where he also stayed for only half a year. In the spring he was awarded to the second division club Ipswich Town , where he was able to achieve four goals in nine games. In 2007 he moved to league rivals from Ipswich Sheffield Wednesday , in the first season he was 16 in the second season with the team 12.

Internationally, he played once for England in the friendly against Australia on February 12, 2003 in London , where he even scored a goal. The game ended 1: 3.
