Francisco Alfonsin

Francisco "Paco" Alfonsín Sánchez (* in Jerez de la Frontera ) is a Spanish actor.

Career

Alfonsín grew up in Jerez and later studied at the Drama School in Córdoba ( arte drámatico ). He holds a PhD in Theater Studies ( ciencias del espectáculo ) at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Seville . From 1991 he worked in various Spanish theater groups, including Atalaya , Teatro del Velador and the Centro Andaluz de Teatro , with whom he also toured America and Australia.

In 1998 he moved to England, where he co-founded the Northern Stage Ensemble in Newcastle upon Tyne and also appeared in international co-productions. Alfonsín wrote the piece Las Hijas de la Verguenza himself for the ensemble. In February 2006, following the end of the UK tour of 1001 Nights Now , a co-production of the Northern Stage Ensemble, Nottingham Playhouse and London's Albany Theater , Alfonsín returned to Spain where he worked as an actor, director and producer on independent productions.

In the 2007/2008 season he was involved as a fencing master in a Romeo-y-Julieta opera at the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez . Between 2008 and 2010 he took on the adult lead role in each of Iván Noel's first three films and sometimes also participated as a screenwriter. He also pursued various teaching activities. In 2012 he had a supporting role in two episodes of the Spanish historical television series Hispania, la leyenda ; In 2010 and 2013 he worked as a prop master in international films. In 2014 he took on the leading role in Romania in the play Noul locatar ( Le Nouveau Locataire , 1955) by Eugène Ionesco .

Afonsín is married and has one daughter. He has lived in Marseille since 2012 .
