Just a few years after joining Club America, Hernández was elected vice-president of the club and held the office for 27 years in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

In 1996 his autobiography was published under the title El vuelo del águila. América, el mejor de la historia (The eagle's wing. América, the best in history).

Individual evidence

  1. OEM (source 2, above) puts his start at Asturias in 1943, in which he was only 16 years. In addition, his professional career at OEM is given as 17 years and his retirement is estimated at January 1962. In this respect, the beginning of his professional career is likely to have been in 1944 or more in 1945.

The membership of Zacatepec in the summer of 1953, as stated in the international match statistics of the RSSSF, should therefore be incorrect.)
