Franck Chaumin (born November 2, 1969 in Blois ) is a former French football goalkeeper and current coach.

Player career

After Chaumin showed his talent as a goalkeeper, he went to INF Vichy, a training center for young soccer players. From there he succeeded in 1989 switching to the second division CFC Quimper . For Quimper he was able to play 20 times in his first season, but had to accept the departure of numerous top performers and the resulting relegation in the same season. In the following season, the targeted promotion was missed, so Chaumin left the club in 1991. He signed with the second-rate Gazélec FC Ajaccio in Corsica . With this he played a good and a mixed season in the second division before he found a new employer in 1993 in the first division club FC Sochaux . However, he only guarded the reserve team's goal. After the departure of the second goalkeeper Stéphane Ferrand , he competed with Pascal Villechalane for the role of substitute keeper. Without having played in the first team, he moved to FC Mulhouse in the second division in 1995 . For the Alsatian club he was again the goalkeeper, but suffered from injuries. In 1998 he was relegated to the third division with the club and ended his career at the same time.

Coaching career

From 1998 to 2001 worked for a club from Savenay , where he was responsible for goalkeeper training and youth. In 2001 he was hired as a goalkeeping coach at the professional club EA Guingamp . This was followed in 2005 by switching to FC Nantes , where he trained the young goalkeepers. From 2009 he was in the service of OC Vannes , where he was again in charge of goalkeeping training. In April 2010 he was hired by the Malian national team as a goalkeeping coach.
