Franck Kom (born September 18, 1991 in Bafoussam ) is a Cameroonian football player . He plays in defensive midfield and has been under contract with Espérance Tunis since July 2017 .

Career

Youth & Beginnings

Kom played as a youth for the Cameroonian football club Panthère du Ndé .

Étoile Sportive du Sahel

In January 2012, Kom signed with Étoile Sportive du Sahel . There he managed to integrate very quickly and become a regular player. He won the Tunisian Cup there three times (2012, 2014 and 2015) and was Tunisian champion in 2016 . In November 2015, Kom won his first international title, the CAF Confederation Cup .

Karlsruher SC

In June 2016, Kom signed a contract with the German second division club Karlsruher SC . The transfer fee was 800,000 euros . There he made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Arminia Bielefeld on the first match day. Kom played a total of 21 league games for KSC, but was ultimately unable to prevent the team from relegating to the third division.

Espérance Tunis

After the descent from Karlsruhe, Kom moved to the reigning Tunisian champions Espérance Tunis for the 2017/18 season on a free transfer . There he signed for three seasons.

Al-Rayyan SC

Franck Kom has been under contract with Al-Rayyan SC in the Qatar Stars League since July 1, 2019 .

Cameroon national football team

In 2011 he reached the final of the U-20 African Championship in South Africa with the Cameroonian U-20 soccer team . As a result, the team qualified for the U-20 World Cup , which took place in Colombia that same year .

In September 2014 he was invited to the Cameroon national team for the first time. He played his first game against Ivory Coast , which was won 4-1.
