Cras-sur-Reysouze ( Crô in the local dialect of the Bresse) is a village and a former French commune with 1,471 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ain in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the canton of Attignat in the arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Cras-sur-Reyssouze and Étrez were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Bresse Vallons and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Cras-sur-Reysouze.

Cras-sur-Reyssouze is located at 200 m , about 12 km north-north-west of the prefecture of Bourg-en-Bresse , 24 km east of the city of Mâcon and 65 km north-north-east of the city of Lyon (as the crow flies). Cras-sur-Reyssouze extends in the southern part of the historical Bresse province . Neighboring towns are Étrez in the north, Marboz in the east, Attignat in the south, Saint-Martin-le-Châtel in the south-west and Malafretaz in the west and north-west.

The area covers part of the southern Bresse, a particularly agricultural plain between the Jura Mountains and the Saône River . The small river Reyssouze drains the surrounding area.
history
The first written mentions from the High Middle Ages can be found in the 13th century. In 1272 the village is mentioned as Crasso , later Craz or Cras (1355). From 1793 to 2015 Cras-sur-Reyssouze was part of the canton of Montrevel-en-Bresse .
