Franco Gualdrini

Franco Gualdrini (born June 26, 1923 in Faenza , Province of Ravenna , Italy , † March 22, 2010 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Terni .

Life

Franco Gualdrini studied at the Bagnacavallo Faenza seminary and at the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome. He was ordained a priest on March 1, 1947 . From 1947 to 1953 he was pastor and rector of the Bagnacavallo Faenza seminary, later rector of the Almo Collegio Capranica, the oldest Roman seminary.

He was appointed bishop of the diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia by Pope John Paul II in 1983 . He was ordained bishop on October 22, 1983 by Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio . His resignation was granted in 2000 by John Paul II. Franco Gualdrini was buried in the crypt of Terni Cathedral.

As a canon he belonged to the Liberian chapter of the Patriarchal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore . In 2003 he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Terni.
