Franco Ongarato

Franco Ongarato (born May 29, 1949 in Padova , Italy) is a former Italian cyclist.

Athletic career

In his stage victory in the International Peace Drive in 1971, he finished 29th in the final ranking. At the 1972 Olympics in Munich, he was one of the 224 Italian athletes. In the Olympic road race, however, he was eliminated.

He was a pro for only two years:

He could not win a race during this time, took part in the Giro d 'Italia in 1973 (117th place). His best place as a professional driver was third in the race from Sassari to Cagliari in 1973.
