Frank-Lorenz Engel

Frank-Lorenz Engel (born May 8, 1961 ) is a German actor , director and voice actor .

life and work

Frank-Lorenz Engel grew up in Piesbach in the Saarland in the Nalbach valley on the Prims and graduated from high school in Dillingen in 1980. In 1983 he passed his stage maturity examination (diploma in the performing arts) at the Saarland University of Music and Theater. From 1983 to 1985 he studied sociology at the Carl v. Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. The Disney studios cast Frank-Lorenz Engel for the lead role of the elder Simba in the cartoon The Lion King , as well as in the sequel The Lion King 2 - Simba's Kingdom (1998). Engel has been living freelance in Berlin since 1987 . Engel has been the artistic director of the Brothers Grimm Festival in Hanau since 2013.
