Frank Adlam

Frank Adlam (* 1857 in Salisbury ; † May 10, 1929 in London ) was a British composer and organist .

Life

Frank Adlam's father was the shoemaker Abraham Thomas Adlam. He himself grew up in Salisbury and went to school there. He later attended the Dorset County School in Charminster. In 1877, Frank Adlam's first work, the waltz series Spring Flowers , was published by Hopwood & Crew in London . From 1878 to 1888 he was the organist at St. Phillip's Church on Regent Street in London. On October 30, 1884, he was piano soloist and accompanist at a Grand Evening Concert in the Athenaeum Room in Derby , which was hosted by Frederick Brown. Participants were the singers Rose Moss, Alice Kean, John Cross and Signor Frassini, the violinist Herman Koenig and the organist of Lichfield Cathedral JB Lott. From 1888 Adlam was organist at St. Thomas Church on Regent Street in London. His address at the time was 81, Albany Street, Regents Park, London. According to census reports from 1901 and 1911, he lived with Frank Dean, who also published some of his works. Adlam died unmarried in London on May 10, 1929.
