Frank Berners

Frank Berners (* 1965 in Zülpich ) is a German television producer and former RTL program director .

Frank Berners is considered one of the best experts on the national and international program market. During his time as program manager at RTL, he brought numerous new genres to the screen - from soaps like Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten to sitcoms like Nikola and Das Amt to young fiction series like Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei . He made a significant contribution to the fact that RTL became number 1 among young viewers from 1992 and set the big TV trends such as quizzes ( Who wants to be a millionaire? ), Casting ( Germany is looking for the superstar ) or coaching ( Super Nanny ) on German television .

In 1989, Stefan Jedele brought the student of communication sciences, American studies, and market and advertising psychology to RTL. Berners became an advisor to program director Marc Conrad . After graduating in 1992, he began to set up the program planning and development department. A year later, Berners also took over the management of the Primetime division. In 1995 he became deputy program director, and since 1999 Berners has acted as program director for managing director Gerhard Zeiler .
