Frank Döhmann

Frank Döhmann (born August 4, 1956 in Bochum ) is a German film producer and filmmaker. Since 2001 he has also been professor for film production at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne .

Life

Frank Döhmann was born in Bochum. After graduating from high school, he studied human medicine at the University of Cologne . In 1978 he founded the company Dr Muschnik Film & Theater Produktion. The three films My Heart is overcome with Terror, Five Bottles for Angelika and Strommberg - The Last Night were made by 1982. In the late 1980s, Frank Döhmann then mainly worked as a production manager for television. In the 1990s he worked as a production manager for many television productions .

In 2001 Frank Döhmann became a professor at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne . In 2005 he became managing director of Studio Hamburg Produktion together with Sytze van der Laan and Jan Kremer . Frank Döhmann has been working as a freelance film producer alongside his professorship since 2006 and was Managing Director of Badlands Film from 2009 to 2013 .

Frank Döhmann currently lives in Cologne. He is married to the director Britta Keils and has a son and a daughter.
