Werner Possardt

Werner Possardt (born April 12, 1951 in Schwabmünchen ; † December 30, 2004 in Phuket , Thailand ) was a German actor , film producer and director .

Werner Possardt studied theater studies and completed training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . After that he first played at various city theaters. In 1977 he stood in front of the camera for Rainer Werner Fassbinder in the film Deutschland im Herbst . In 1979 he founded in Essen , the "Dr. Muschnik Filmproduktion ", 1980 in Cologne the" Calypso-Filmproduktion ".

In 1985 he directed the first German science fiction comedy Xaver and his extraterrestrial friend . From 1989 to 1993 Possardt played the role of Otto Pichelsteiner in the TV series Lindenstrasse on ARD .

In the 1990s he made a name for himself as a busy producer for television (e.g. Der Venusmörder ( RTL ), Der Schnapper - Flowers for the Murderer ( ZDF )) and for the cinema (e.g. Sisi and the Kaiserkuss ( 1991), test drive to paradise , Fandango - Members Only (2000)).

In the early 2000s, his film production had to file for bankruptcy, a serious illness necessitated a kidney transplant . In the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake , he was so badly injured that he died a few days later. He left a wife and two children.
