Frank Hollender

Frank Hollender (born November 19, 1959 in Berlin ) is a former sprinter of SC Dynamo Berlin .

His greatest success was second place at the 1981 World Cup in Rome as the starting runner of the 4 x 100 meter relay. At the GDR championships in Dresden in 1981 he was runner-up with 10.52 seconds behind Frank Emmelmann with 10.19 seconds. In 1980 and 1984 Hollender won the GDR championship with the sprint relay.

From 1980 to 1982 Hollender took part in four competitions for the GDR national team. In 1984 he would have been a candidate to participate in the Olympics, but the boycott of the Eastern Bloc countries prevented him from participating.

His daughter, Luise Hollender, is also a sprinter and wants to take part in the 2016 Olympic Games .
