Frank Klüger

Frank Klüger (* 1944 in Elsterberg ) is a German clarinetist , composer , publisher of music-educational literature and ensemble leader.

Life

From 1950 to 1961 Frank Klüger attended the music school in Greiz with the subjects violin, music theory, clarinet and piano. This was followed by music studies from 1961 to 1967 - first at the conservatories in Zwickau and Halle and then at the Dresden University of Music, majoring in clarinet.

He has been working in music education since 1970, initially at the Saalfeld Music School from 1970 and as a teacher for clarinet, chamber music and methodology at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Zwickau since 1976 . There he is also a specialist advisor for woodwind training . In 1984 he founded the Saxon Clarinet Ensemble , of which he is still director today. Since 1992 he has been the woodwind teacher of the State Youth Orchestra of Saxony.

As an interpreter he is active in chamber music as well as in the orchestra and as a soloist.

Klüger is also the editor and author of teaching literature for clarinet and a specialist advisor to the Association of German Music Schools for clarinet and ensemble playing. From 1990 to 2003 he was a board member of the State Association of Music Schools in Saxony. This makes him one of the most versatile musicians in Saxony. In 2010 he was awarded the Johann Walter plaque .
