life and work
He began his artistic career as a professional musician. In 1984 he emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Switzerland ( Ticino ), after a one-year stay he moved to Germany. At the beginning of the nineties he met the German artistic scene, which dealt with the style "trompe-l'oeil" (eye deception). This fine technique, which the old masters used, fascinated him. He begins to study this technique intensively so that he can implement his ideas indefinitely.
But the sole "trompe-l'oeil" style, which mainly only depicts classical still lifes, is not enough for him, and therefore he combines it with Fantastic Realism and Surrealism to transform his thoughts into surreal and magical compositions. In his work he deals with historical topics, which are made up of reality, imagination and hidden humor.
Not only historical personalities such as B. Wolfgang Amadeus, Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, or Franz Kafka are portrayed in his unique style, and contemporary personalities such as the writer Ephraim Kishon or the singer Karel Gott are portrayed by him. Since 2003 he has been a Knight of the Ordo Sancti Constantini Magni.
One could see his pictures in numerous solo and group exhibitions, his works are in private as well as in public collections.
